Privacy notice
Plain language, and no surprises. We collect only what you type into our forms, we never ask about status, and we never sell personal information.
In short
- We collect only what you type into our forms.
- We never ask about immigration or residence status.
- We never sell personal information, and there are no advertising or analytics cookies here.
- Write to us and we show you, correct or delete what we hold.
Who is responsible
Together and Stronger is responsible for the personal information collected through this site. Our international office is at 5150 E Pacific Coast Hwy, 2nd Floor, Long Beach, CA 90804, USA, and the person in charge of protecting personal information can be reached at members@tascanada.org.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms: your name, your e-mail address and the country where you live, and, if you choose to give them, your city, your country of origin or heritage, the number of adults in your household, the name of your association, and your message.
The company that hosts this website keeps ordinary technical logs, such as the address your device connects from and the pages it requests, for security and to keep the site working.
What we never collect
We never ask for immigration or residence status, identity-document numbers, health information, religion or political opinions. Membership is free, so we never ask for payment details either. Please do not put any of these in a message to us.
Why we use it
To answer you; to register members and associations and issue member cards; to write to those who offer to serve; and to send member news, only if you ticked that box. We use your information for nothing else.
Where it is kept
Our international office is in the United States, and our providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country. We remain responsible for it wherever it is, and we require our providers to protect it to a comparable standard.
How long we keep it
We keep your membership record for as long as you are a member, and messages for as long as they are needed to answer you. Write to us and we delete your registration.
Your rights
Under Canada’s federal privacy law, PIPEDA, and Québec’s Law 25, you may ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, and have it deleted. Write to members@tascanada.org, and we reply within the time the law allows.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, to the Commission d’accès à l’information.
E-mail from us
We send member news only with your consent, as Canada’s anti-spam legislation requires. Every such message says who sent it and carries a way to unsubscribe. A message that confirms your membership or answers your question is not marketing, and is sent regardless.
Cookies and the voice assistant
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The voice assistant loads only when you press its button, and then its provider processes the call.
Children
Membership is for adults. Children under 18 are included on a parent’s membership, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
